Multiscale Mechanics of Innovative Engineering Materials

The MORE Project

The Research Network on Multiscale Mechanics of Innovative Engineering Materials (MORE) brings together 11 research groups from different institutions —spanning seven regions of Spain— to foster robust collaboration, effective coordination, and development of complementary strengths aimed at advancing the understanding, design, and application of innovative engineering materials.

Programme Redes de Investigación 2024

This project is funded by Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities under the programme Redes de Investigación 2024, project MORE (RED2024-153869-T)

The multidisciplinary nature of fundamental research across various national projects, combined with its transversal approach and the multiple applications addressed, establishes MORE as an inherently collaborative network.

Specific experimental, computational, and theoretical developments from various groups have been identified to augment and enhance the research efforts of others.

To facilitate this cooperation, we have designed a series of structured activities:

01

Network-wide meetings

02

Two international conferences

03

Various international invited seminars

04

A mobility program

05

Training activities on environmentally sustainable research and science communication

06

Joint public outreach / communications initiatives

This program aims to leverage existing knowledge and resources, promote interdisciplinary approaches, accelerate the translation of research findings into practical applications, and enhance the global scientific impact of Spanish research on Mechanics of Materials.

Research Groups

The Research Network on Multiscale Mechanics of Innovative Engineering Materials (MORE) brings together 11 research groups from different institutions—spanning seven regions of Spain (Andalucía, Aragón, Canarias, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunidad de Madrid, Comunitat Valenciana, and País Vasco)

Organization

The administrative bodies of MORE network are:

  • The Supervisory Board is the highest decision-making body. Is responsible for overseeing network coordination and management, including financial aspects, and the implementation of dissemination, communication and training activities.
  • The Project Coordinator bears the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project, including administrative and financial management.
  • The Project Manager assists the Project Coordinator in management activities.
  • The Public Engagement, Communication and Dissemination Committee serves as the linchpin for efficient network communication, facilitating dissemination of results to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • The Intellectual Property Board is responsible for developing the IP strategy for the network, which outlines how IP generated from the project will be managed, protected, and exploited.
