Prof. Guruswami Ravichandran, Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and an internationally recognized expert in dynamic deformation and failure of materials, visited IMDEA Materials Institute on October 2nd and the University of Seville on October 5th to deliver two distinguished seminars within the framework of the MORE network.

During his visits, Prof. Ravichandran presented recent advances in the experimental investigation of material behavior under extreme loading conditions, highlighting the physical mechanisms governing deformation and failure at high strain rates.

The seminars brought together researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students from IMDEA Materials Institute, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, the University of Seville, and other institutions, fostering stimulating discussions on dynamic material behavior, experimental mechanics, and future research directions. Prof. Ravichandran's visits provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen scientific interactions within the MORE network and promote collaboration in the field of mechanics of materials under extreme conditions.
